About the Artist:
I was born and raised in the Black Hills of Rapid City, SD but attending university in Cardiff, Wales has significantly influenced my practice, especially the more recent paintings. My work tends to have a realistic style that is often bent or warped in some way, yet still recognizable. This in part comes from my love of the 'American Realist' tradition as well as being surrounded in my youth by the work of Dick Termes, a local to the Black Hills of South Dakota. Throw in a bit of M. C. Escher, a bit of Orwellian fantasy, and a brash and fierce independence and you've got a rough idea of me. The subjects that I deal with usually relate to time, the fragility of memory, and the way in which objects and places are defined by their relationship to people.
I am graduating with a BA Fine Art from Cardiff School of Art and Design in June 2017.
